Overview:
- Pony plays on 54' / 80' dimension and Colt plays on 60' 6" / 90' dimension.
- More competitive leagues for 13-17 year-olds, including teams from other townships
- Practices and games held both during the week and the weekend
- Pony home games are played at Rees Park and Pleasant Valley. Colt home games are played on PWP #1. Both leagues will play away games at opponent's fields
- 7 inning games playing with 9 defensive players
- Typically 3-4 PT teams are formed with 11-15 players per team (dependent on registration numbers)
- Pony League Rules enforced
- All scores are recorded and league standings/records are kept

COLT RULES
Bat Rules:
In conjunction with USA Baseball and its other participating national member organizations, PONY Baseball adopted the USA Baseball bat standard (USABat) on January 1, 2018. Except for -3 (BBCOR certified), all other 2 1/4" and 2 5/8" barrel bats with a minus factor of (-5, -7, -9, etc.), must be USABat certified with the USABat licensing stamp on the bat in order to be used for league play.
Schedule:
- Practices begin early-April for both Pony and Colt and the seasons will run until late June.
- Practices and games will be held throughout the week and on Saturdays on a set schedule, weather dependent.
- Practice slots are 1-2 hours and games usually last ~ 2 hours
Playing Time and Positions:
- Nine (9) defensive players in the field; there is no minimum playing time requirement for players. Players do not have a minimum number of innings or at-bats.
- Playing time, especially skilled positions (shortstop, pitcher, etc.) based on individual player skill, merit, game situations, and taking player safety into consideration.
Development Objectives:
- Focus on refining player's existing skills and the development of advanced skills for all positions while maintaining safety and encouraging sportsmanship
- Advanced skill development for fielding, throwing, batting and base running
- Development Goal - Have FUN and advance baseball skills in a very competitive league where teams play to win
Equipment and Uniforms:
- Player provides baseball glove, baseball pants, and cleats
- League provides a team hat and jersey
- League provides all other needed equipment
Awards and Recognition:
- All teams participate in Playoffs
- Pony League Champions and Runners up receive T-shirts
- Colt Champions and Runners up receive awards from West Penn Colt
- Players eligible for recommendation for additional Tournament team play in summer
