(11-12 year olds by April 30th)
Overview:
- Players are introduced to leading off bases and pick-off moves at this level in addition to longer distances between bases and the pitching mound and home plate.
- In Bronco we strive to develop proficiency in pitching, catching, hitting, base running, fielding, and throwing skills, as well as continue to develop a better understanding of the concepts and strategies of the game. Like Shetland, Pinto, and Mustang emphasis is placed on keeping the game moving, providing as many "touch opportunities" as possible and having a fun, positive experience.
- Team rosters of no more than 13 players (only 9 play in the field).
- 3 outs or 5 runs max per inning for first 4 innings. 5th and 6th innings are unlimited runs.
- Mound distance is 50' and bases are 70'.
- We typically play or practice twice per week.
- Scorebook is kept.
- Paid adult umpires.
Schedule:
- Practices begin early-April and the season will run until mid-June.
- Practices and games will be held throughout the week and on Saturdays on a set schedule, weather dependent.
